The hidden problem underground

Tennessee clay
is suffocating
your lawn.

Middle Tennessee sits on some of the most compacted clay soil in the Southeast. Over time, foot traffic, mowing, and weather pack it even tighter — starving your roots of oxygen, water, and nutrients. Core aeration punches thousands of small holes through that barrier, giving your lawn room to breathe and grow thicker than ever.

Our most complete aeration program — everything your lawn needs to come back thicker, greener, and stronger.

Recommended
Signature Aeration & Seeding
Our most complete program — mechanical + liquid aeration, premium fescue seed, fungicide protection, and slow-release fertilizer. The full transformation.
Mechanical Aeration
Core plugs pulled from the soil to break up compaction and loosen the surface — lets water, air, and nutrients reach the roots.
Liquid Aeration
Penetrates deeper than plugs alone — helps roots grow further into the soil for a stronger, more drought-resistant lawn.
Fungicide Protection
Prevents lawn diseases that can happen overnight when you're watering heavily after seeding. Signature only.
3 Fescue Varieties
Hand-selected blend of three fescue grass seed varieties chosen for long-lasting color and durability in Tennessee's climate.
Slow-Release Fertilizer
Included with both programs. Feeds your lawn steadily over weeks — not a quick burn that fades.

Common questions

Questions, answered.

If you don't see your question, call us at 615.599.3226 — most calls are answered live.

Why does Nashville soil need aeration so badly?
Middle Tennessee is heavy clay. Foot traffic, mowers, and Tennessee summers bake the top 2–3 inches into a hard layer that blocks water, fertilizer, and air from reaching the root zone. Core aeration physically opens that layer.
Core aeration or liquid aeration — what's the difference?
Core aeration pulls plugs of soil out of the ground, leaving open channels — the proven mechanical fix for compacted clay. Liquid aeration uses surfactants to loosen soil chemically and is a good in-between maintenance option, but it won't undo years of compaction the way core will.
When is the best time to aerate?
Fescue lawns: late summer to early fall (August–October), paired with overseeding. Bermuda lawns: late spring to early summer (May–June), when the turf is actively growing and can heal quickly.
Should I aerate every year?
On clay soil with normal foot traffic, yes — annually. Heavily-used lawns or new construction may benefit from twice-yearly aeration for the first 2–3 years.
Do you overseed when you aerate?
We offer aeration with overseeding as a bundled service. The plugs create perfect seed-to-soil contact, which is why fall aeration + overseed is the single highest-ROI fescue treatment.
Will my lawn look bad after aeration?
You'll see plugs scattered across the surface for 2–3 weeks while they break down. The lawn itself looks normal within days, and the holes close as the turf fills in over the following month.
