§.01  Why now

Three reasons February matters.

  1. 01

    The soil-temp window is real.

Pre-emergent works only before crabgrass seeds germinate. In Middle Tennessee that window opens around Valentine's Day and closes by the first warm weekend in March. Miss it and you'll fight weeds all summer.

  2. 02

    Routes fill in February.

We hold dates in the order they're booked. Early sign-ups get the morning windows and the consistent visit cadence. Late sign-ups get whatever's left.

  3. 03

5% off the season, paid once.

Pay the 2026 program in full before April 1 and we take 5% off the list. No interest, no financing, no fine print. Same lawn, less paid.

§.02  The year, mapped

Every visit lands when it matters.

  1. Feb
    Pre-emergent
Soil temps approaching 55°. Pre-emergent goes down before crabgrass and goosegrass germinate. This is the visit that decides the rest of your year.
  2. Mar
    Early fert + spot
First feeding wakes the lawn out of dormancy. Broadleaf weed control hits anything already up. Soil pH check.
  3. Apr
    Balanced fert
Second pre-emergent split where called for. Full broadleaf application. Mowing height set for the season.
  4. May–Jun
    Color + protect
Slow-release nitrogen for color. First fungicide goes down on warm-season lawns. Insect monitoring begins.
  5. Jul–Aug
    Disease defense
Brown patch season. Two fungicides on Essential, three on Elite. Army worm protection. Hard mowing review.
  6. Sep–Oct
    Aerate + seed
Core aeration on cool-season turf. Overseeding where stand is thin. Fall fertilizer for root development.
  7. Nov
    Winterize
Final winterizer fertilization. Last broadleaf cleanup. Mower decks lifted. Lawn handed off to dormancy in the best shape it's been in.

  • “The crabgrass on my old lawn would come back every July. Three years on the Pure Turf pre-emergent and I haven't seen a blade.”

    Homeowner / Nashville, TN
  • “Best part of the annual is the timing. They show up the week the lawn needs it, not the week it's on someone's route.”

When does the pre-emergent window actually close?
Soil temperatures hit 55° around late February to mid-March in Middle Tennessee. Once crabgrass germinates, pre-emergent stops working. We try to have every account's first visit on the calendar by Feb 20.
Do I have to pay in full to get the 5% pre-pay savings?
Yes. Pre-pay means the full season is paid before the first visit. Most clients put it on a card before April 1 and never see another invoice that year.
What happens if I want to cancel mid-season?
No long-term agreement. If you cancel, we refund the visits you haven't received. Pre-pay savings prorate based on visits used.
What if I already have crabgrass from last year?
Pre-emergent prevents new germination, not existing weeds. We'll address what's already there with post-emergent in March and April. The pre-emergent stops the next cohort.
How is the Essential program different from Basic?
Essential adds three fungicide applications during disease season (June–August), army worm monitoring, priority scheduling, and disease prevention. For warm-season lawns or shaded properties, Essential pays for itself in summer.
Can I add aeration or mosquito service to the program?
Yes. Both are quoted separately and scheduled alongside your program visits. Most Essential and Elite clients add fall aeration; mosquito is usually month-to-month from April to October.
